HKUST and Haven of Hope Christian Service (HOHCS) signed MoU to forge partnership and collaboration on gerontechnology on December 6, 2018, promoted by Prof. Joseph Kai Cho Kwan, Director of Health, Safety and Environment Office & Adjunct Professor of Division of Environment and Sustainability (ENVR). Under the partnership, HKUST will aim to develop tailor-made solutions or products to meet the needs of HOHCS’ service users, while HOHCS will offer a testing platform. Seven projects, aiming to address the challenges brought by Hong Kong’s ageing population, are being carried out, including the project on “Tap Water Disinfection by Micro-PEF for Prevention of Water and Droplet-borne Diseases” from the team of Prof. King Lun Yeung and Prof. Kwan at ENVR.
